Leland Tyler Wayne as known by his stage name Metro Boomin was born on the 16th of September 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. He went to Atlanta while he was a scholar in the 11th grade at Parkway North
High School to pursue his dreams of getting into a music career, he began making beats at the age of 13. This transpired after his mother purchased him a laptop with a copy of the FruityLoops music creation program.
Metro used to produce five beats a day while he was a scholar. Metro wanted to rap at first, so he continued producing beats so he could have music to perform over. He did, however, decide to devote himself entirely to hip-hop production.
While still in high school, he began to use online social media platforms like Twitter to network with more famous rap artists and submit beats for possible song releases.

At the beginning of Metro’s career, his mother would frequently drive him from St. Louis to Atlanta for almost half a day to make collaborations with artists he met online while he was in high school.
Among the first artists with whom he collaborated was Bricksquad Monopoly rapper Tay Don, which resulted in him working with other Bricksquad label artists including Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, and eventually, his longtime collaborator Future, with whom he now collaborates till this day.
When Metro was a freshman at the prominent “Morehouse College” his song titled “Karate Chop” performed by Future with Lil Wayne as a featured artist from Future’s album titled “Honest” it became an instant smash hit.
Metro Boomin released his debut mixtape, titled “19 & Boomin”, in May 2013. On the 7th of October 2013, he launched the mixtape, which was hosted by a notable mixtape website called LiveMixtapes, after releasing warm-up singles including artists such as Gucci Mane, Trinidad James, and others.
